Player Skills Assessment Module

Match, Player and Scouting Assessments:

Increasingly, the best coaching practice in the most successful Football Clubs incorporate regular skills assessment of performance and development. Each Club often defines a unique set of criteria against which it judges and develops its young players. These can be either of Technical Football Skills generically - or Position specific criteria. Regular assessments play a crucial part in Player Management, identifying both strengths to be built on, and weaknesses to be overcome, with a view to maximising match fitness and performance. Developed with some of the Country’s leading Clubs, the Software is fully user-definable, allowing each Club to build into the system their own assessment and player development philosophies. At key points the Software provides features to help assess players - Initial Scouting Assessments, Regular Assessments of Performance in Matches and Periodic Player Assessments.

Match Assessment Record:

As part of the extensive match and appearance record, the performance of each player can be assessed within the match record - following the standard coaching practice in Soccer Academies. Clicking on the Game Assessment Tab (see below) shows a list of games the player has appeared in. An overall assessment score can be awarded for this appearance with the option of adding further details about the assessment together with the Coaches’ comments.

Player Progress Statements

A complete record of all players’ assessments with Date, Assessor’s Name and Assessment Type can be recorded. Many types of assessments can be defined, such as Goalkeeper or Attacker Type, Trialist Assessment, Scouting Assessment, and Opposition Player Assessment, for example. And within each assessment type, a range of assessment criteria can be defined, such as Ball Control, Penalty Taking, Tactical Awareness, etc. and the Players performance graded against it. Grade styles may be either numeric or descriptive. A text may be assigned to each grade, which then allows the Software to automatically generate progress statements for Academy Players, School Heads or Parents.

User Definable Assessment Criteria

Once set up, the assessment types, criteria and grades are then re-useable each time the Players are assessed. Comments of the Coach, Scout and Player can be added to the assessment records. In addition, a Coaching or Skills Development or Fitness Action Plan can be recorded, following the assessment.
